It’s said that while basketball or  football players can go professional in the NBA or NFL respectively,  wrestlers go professional in life. The primary thing wrestling teaches  better than most sports is life lessons.

Wrestling teaches mental and physical  toughness; how to be comfortable being uncomfortable; how to work and  train as a team but stand on your own and face your challenges; how to  control your emotions when you just had a big win and your teammate just  had a big loss; but most of all, wrestling teaches work ethic.

There is no hiding it, wrestling is a  demanding and difficult sport. The only way to be a competitive  wrestler is to work hard at it - even the naturally gifted wrestlers  have to work for it. What that means is that when wrestling is over, the  wrestler takes that work ethic into the real world and applies it to  all aspects of their lives helping them achieve success in whatever they  do.

    Other benefits of wrestling include:

    • Promotes physical fitness
    • Opponents are matched by size so anyone, regardless of size, can compete
    • No expensive equipment necessary
    • Open to people with handicaps and disabilities (talk to our coaches about wrestling and autism)
    • Not just for boys, girls wrestling is on the rise and Knoch has some future superstars
    • Excellent cross training program for football, especially linemen
    • Incredibly fun and rewarding

We accomplish these goals by  providing a financial support association group, competent coaching  staff and a safe training environment to provide team and individual  training opportunities within the community.
